My name is Tony
Collinson, I live in West Yorkshire and have been interested in photography
for many years. I am a member of Aireborough
Camera Club which meets at Guisley Theatre on Wednesday evenings.
For over 20 years I used Nikon cameras and lenses, but moved to Canon
equipment during 2004. The main reason for the
change was the quality of the new Canon digital cameras and the
impressive range of Image Stabilising lenses. One area of my photographic
activity is rare birds and for this I use a Canon 600 mm f4 IS lens
and find the Image Stabilising facility invaluable, particularly when
coupled with either the 1.4 or 2 x converters. As for the camera body,
I opted for an EOS 1D Mk II and use a Canon 17-40mm zoom lens as standard.
I also have a Canon 100-400 zoom lens. As you would imagine a strong
tripod is required for this equipment and the Gitzo G342 combined
with a Wimberley Head is an ideal combination.
In the past I have
been involved in Audio Visual presentations and recently rekindled my
enthusiasm for this medium. I have found PicturesToExe to be
a superb program to use for creating slide shows. It is well supported
with tutorials and widely accepted in the Audio Visual community. There
are also many downloadable shows from which you can see the various
styles employed using this program.
In general I shoot in RAW
mode and initial processing is carried out using Phase One Capture One
software. The images are then opened up and manipulated as required in
Adobe Photoshop CS2. So many features! So much to
learn!!
I do hope you will find something of interest on my website
and would appreciate any feed back you may like to leave.
